Day 31

Today is a special day- I start my second month, and this piece is hopefully the beginning of a larger project. It is inspired by Michelangelo's unfinished works, as well as by Sisyphus and Atlas.

I froze a block of sculpey and carved this out, additive and subtractive style, as practice for the next step-- carving it out of foam. I want to eventually carve it out of plaster.
